Lift Up Tucson is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals raise themselves out of poverty and into successful careers. We believe that with the right support and resources, anyone can overcome the challenges of poverty and achieve their dreams.
Our programs are designed to provide individuals with the support they need to succeed.
We understand that many povered individuals in poverty face many challenges, such as lack of education, training, childcare, transportation, and business apparel. This is why Lift Up steps in to provide different assistance programs to destroy these barriers while individuals secure their successful careers.
Lift Up is committed to helping individuals overcome poverty and achieve their dreams. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to succeed, and we are here to provide the assistance needed to make that happen.
Statistical Data
In 2020, the poverty rate in the United States was 9.2%, which equates to 34 million people living in poverty.
Poverty rates are highest for families headed by single women, with rates of 26.2% for families with children under 18 years old.
In 2020, the poverty rate for African Americans was 19.5%. For Hispanics, it was 15.8%. For Non-Hispanic Whites, it was 6.6%.
Individuals living in poverty are more likely to experience food insecurity, inablity to access healthcare, and struggle to afford basic necessities like housing and transportation.
